You should be a Bachelors's degree holder in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with NDT Level II or III certification in relevant NDT methods such as UT, RT, MPT, DPT, etc. Any additional certifications or training in Quality Assurance and Quality Control would be advantageous. With a minimum of 5 years of experience as an NDT Mechanical Engineer or similar role, preferably within the EPC industry, you should possess extensive experience in applying NDT techniques to mechanical systems, piping, and structural steel. Previous involvement in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects would be beneficial. Your key responsibilities would include developing and implementing NDT inspection plans, ensuring alignment with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations. You will also be responsible for coordinating and supervising NDT personnel and activities on-site, conducting and supervising NDT inspections on various mechanical components, and analyzing results to provide detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions if needed. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of NDT techniques, mechanical systems, and engineering drawings, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze NDT results effectively. Proficiency in using NDT-related software and tools, familiarity with industry codes and standards, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills are also required for this role. In addition to conducting NDT inspections, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality assurance and quality control procedures, reviewing and interpreting inspection reports, maintaining accurate records, preparing documentation and reports for client submission and regulatory compliance, and promoting safety awareness and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during all NDT operations. Collaboration and communication are key aspects of this role, as you will be required to work closely with project engineers, quality control teams, and contractors, attend project meetings, liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party inspectors, and provide updates on NDT activities and any issues or concerns that may arise.
