Job Title: Senior Network Engineer Cisco NCS 540/550 Company: New Era Technology (Contract Position) Work Location: Gurugram (Client Location) | Work Mode: Work from Office (WFO) Job Type: Contract – 4 to 6 Months (Possible Extension) Certifications: CCNA or CCNP – Mandatory About the Role: New Era Technology is looking for a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco NCS 540/550 platforms to join on a contractual basis . This is a hands-on, onsite role based at our client location in Gurugram , suitable for candidates with strong operational experience in managing complex Cisco-based networks. Key Responsibilities: Configure, deploy, and support Cisco NCS 540 and 550 series platforms in production environments. Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues, including routing, switching, and protocol-level faults. Execute network performance tuning, optimization, and firmware upgrades. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders for seamless network integration and service delivery . Monitor network operations to ensure 99.9% uptime , performance, and security compliance. Develop and maintain detailed network documentation , configurations, and operational procedures. Participate in change management processes , design reviews, and capacity planning exercises. Serve as Tier 3 escalation support for business-critical network incidents. Required Skills & Qualifications: 6+ years of relevant experience in IP networking within ISP/Telecom or large enterprise environments . Proven hands-on experience with Cisco NCS 540 and NCS 550 platforms. Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS , and other Layer 3 protocols. Experience configuring QoS, VLANs, ACLs , and other essential network functions. Active CCNA or CCNP certification (must be current and valid). Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, ServiceNow). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting , and communication skills. Why Join Us?
