Design and execute policies that enable sustainable credit growth in underserved Tier 24 markets while maintaining strict control over asset quality, fraud risk, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Credit Policy & Risk Architecture Define credit norms for used commercial/passenger 3W and 4W vehicles, considering vehicle type, age, usage, geography, and customer profile. Develop segment-specific underwriting frameworks (e.g. auto drivers, taxi operators, fleet owners, small businesses). Design differentiated policies for new-to-credit (NTC), informal income, and low bureau-score customers. Underwriting & Decisioning Lead centralized and regional underwriting teams with strong controls and audit trails. Implement structured appraisal methodology including physical verification, vehicle valuation, and income estimation. Approve high-ticket or exception cases and monitor adherence to deviation protocols. Used Vehicle-Specific Risk Controls Develop SOPs for: RTO transfer and hypothecation validation. Authenticating vehicle condition, odometer tampering, engine/chassis matching. Evaluating second/third ownership risk and pricing vehicle residual value correctly. Coordinate with repossession and insurance teams to assess LTV and liquidation feasibility. Portfolio Monitoring & Loss Containment Track collection and delinquency patterns by vehicle type, geography, vintage. Identify fraud-prone areas, high first-bounce risk, and pockets of stress. Monitor GNPA, LGD, and recovery velocity in written-off used vehicle loans. Field Credit & Training Standardize on-ground credit investigation processes including ITR substitutes, business cash flow validation, customer profiling. Conduct regular training for field credit officers on red flags, fraud detection, and local risk cues. Tech-Enabled Lending Integrate valuation tools, GPS, and telematics data into credit decisioning (where feasible). Support product and data teams in building scoring models for faster approvals. Ensure end-to-end credit workflow digitization through LOS/LMS. Compliance & Governance Ensure RBI compliance including KYC, FPC, fair lending practices. Lead credit audits and support external/internal inspections.
