Role Overview We are looking for a Planning Manager MEP to lead our in-house engineering and design team across all MEP verticals: Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting. This is a critical role bridging the gap between BOQs and buildable IFC drawingsensuring that what's designed is ready for real-world execution. You'll be responsible for the full design-to-drawing lifecycle , managing quality, consistency, and alignment with site needs. Acting as the hub between consultants, internal teams, and planning functions, you'll drive error-free, timely releases and reduce on-site rework. Key Responsibilities 1. Engineering & Design Leadership Own the design process for all MEP trades across multiple concurrent industrial projects. Convert approved BOQs into coordinated IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings. Ensure drawing releases are technically sound, timely, and tailored to real site conditions. Drive standardization of drawing templates, layer systems, and internal review processes. Establish strong QA/QC review pipelines for drawing approvals. 2. Project Planning & Coordination Work closely with the Projects team to map drawing release schedules to execution timelines. Hold weekly drawing coordination and clash-resolution meetings with stakeholders. Proactively revise or reissue drawings in response to site feedback or shifting constraints. Use Promasch to track drawing versions, revisions, and quantity validations. 3. Stakeholder & Consultant Interaction Liaise with client consultants to obtain technical sign-offs and close RFIs efficiently. Support the estimation and costing team with section details, validated quantities, and constructability inputs. Provide final design validation before any major procurement or construction milestone. 4. Team Management & Development Lead a cross-disciplinary team of Draftsmen and Design Engineers across all MEP trades. Build and enforce a culture of precision, ownership, and peer-reviewed quality. Identify skills gaps and lead upskilling efforts across AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and design codes. Foster collaboration and continuous learning through regular internal tech reviews. Ideal Candidate Profile Education B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering AutoCAD certification is essential; Revit/BIM familiarity is a strong plus Experience 1518 years of experience in MEP design and planning Proven track record in leading MEP design for industrial projects (e.g., cleanrooms, data centers, electronics manufacturing, or high-spec utilities) Hands-on experience managing large drawing pipelines with multiple disciplines Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D/Revit a plus) Familiarity with design standards: ASHRAE , NBC , IS codes , NFPA , etc. Understanding of HVAC load calculations, electrical load distribution, plumbing and drainage design, fire detection/suppression systems Strong grasp of version control, layer management, and drawing management systems Soft Skills Strong communicator with the ability to coordinate across Project, Procurement, QA/QC, and Client teams Problem solver who thrives in dynamic, fast-track environments Leadership mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery Ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising on detail
