The Centre drives policy and governance reforms, economic strategy, institutional strengthening, and sector-specific transformation initiatives. About the Team - The Decriminalisation and Deregulation Team within the Parliamentary and Legislative Affairs Division delivers high-quality research on governance models, economic reforms, and legislative matters. The team focuses on solution-oriented legislative drafts to simplify business laws, accelerate India’s business environment, and ease compliance for enterprises. Team members work closely with government officials and a diverse group of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities - Conduct in-depth research and analysis of policy, legislative, and institutional frameworks at national and international levels. Draft bills, policy briefs, analytical notes, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Engage in consultations with sector experts, policymakers, industry representatives, and civil society organisations. Track legislative business of Parliament and State Assemblies; support the preparation of briefs and compendiums. Support senior researchers in preparing reports, presentations, and proposals for high-level policy engagements. Operate in a dynamic, results-driven environment and meet high standards for accuracy and quality. Desired Profile - Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputed university (required). In-depth understanding of legal adjudication processes, statutory interpretation, and business compliance procedures. Strong attention to detail, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi is highly preferred (knowledge of regional languages is an advantage). Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, presentation tools, and document processors. Preferred - 1–2 years of experience in policy research, public administration, or governance advisory. Experience with think tanks, government bodies, or similar institutions; business-related degrees or certifications are highly valued. Knowledge of India’s political system, policy debates, and research tools. Exposure to policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or programme implementation.
