The Manufacturing Engineer (I4.0) will play a crucial role in supporting the deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies at Eaton Bangalore's manufacturing facility. As the Operations/Manufacturing technology leader, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Smart Benches to enable digital transformation within the manufacturing operations. Your role will involve identifying, developing, and deploying technology-based solutions such as equipment connectivity, plant application reporting, analytical dashboards, and process status representation. You will be accountable for designing, specifying, and implementing safe and efficient manufacturing processes, including aspects like machine guarding, controls, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and process documentation. Additionally, you will support day-to-day manufacturing operations by collecting and analyzing manufacturing data to implement process improvements that enhance safety, product quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions. Moreover, you will provide mentorship to other team members in manufacturing engineering and Industry 4.0 competencies. Your key responsibilities will include dealing with multiple technical tasks simultaneously, implementing process improvements to enhance part quality and reduce cycle time and cost, working collaboratively in a team environment, addressing non-conformities, participating in change management activities, creating manufacturing documentation, supporting production floor operations, preventing process bottlenecks, and implementing lean tools and process improvement initiatives. You will also be expected to possess good verbal and written communication skills, expertise in manufacturing process planning, experience in aerospace processes and materials, knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and proficiency in using digital tools to automate and control manufacturing processes. To qualify for this role, you should hold an engineering degree in Electromechanical or Controls/Mechanical Engineering and have at least 7 years of experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing processes or a related engineering function. In terms of technical skills, you should have experience with MRP, PDM, and MES software solutions, as well as proficiency in using various software tools such as QAD MFG/Pro, Dassault ENOVIA, PTC ThingWorx, and others. Strong project management, time management, organizational, and analytical skills are essential for this position. Additionally, familiarity with HTML, CSS, Python, Power Tools, 3D modeling, Rapid Prototyping, PLC software, Cobot Programming, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and manufacturing processes like PFMEA, RCCA, SOP, BOM, and CI tools would be beneficial. Soft skills required for this role include the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and shop floor employees, collaborate with teams to achieve results, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and execute tasks efficiently.
