MYP Art Teacher

Role: MYP Art Teacher (Grades 6–10) – OWIS Whitefield

Key Responsibilities

• Teach MYP Visual Arts for Grades 6–10 using student-centered, inquiry-driven methods.
• Plan and update units, lesson plans, and curriculum maps aligned with the IB MYP framework.
• Conduct theory and studio-based classes across multiple art mediums and techniques.
• Foster creativity, experimentation, conceptual thinking, and individual artistic growth.
• Assess student learning using varied assessment tools and provide constructive feedback.
• Organise student art exhibitions, showcases, and cross-disciplinary creative projects.
• Maintain and manage the art studio, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives.
• Support student well-being and provide pastoral guidance when needed.
• Participate in professional development, departmental meetings, and school events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field.
• Prior IB or international school teaching experience, preferably in MYP.
• Strong artistic skills across varied media and strong understanding of art principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and build an inclusive, creative classroom.
• Good understanding of IB MYP philosophy, ATL skills, global contexts, and conceptual learning.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
