Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Job Description: MY SQL DBA Work Experience 5 - 8 years of overall database administration and support/operations experience, with a successful delivery track record. SME in MySQL database administration. Expertise in MySQL Cluster Replication methods and administration Experience in Master-Master/ Master-Slave replication and troubleshoot replication issues Experience working in large [50+] database instance environments with size ranging up-to 1TB having Master-Slave replications, group replication, InnoDB Cluster and DB Upgrades Should have played a L3 role in current position Experience of working in large landscape/environment where multiple database flavors are running. Knowledge on Database capacity planning/strategy is an added advantage Knowledge & Experience on other database flavors are added advantage Administration/ Operations is an added advantage. Hands on experience with expert knowledge of Unix/Linux flavors w.r.t Database. Good understanding of operational framework like ITIL/ITSM. Should be capable of Owning, Leading and coordinate operational tasks, customer escalations, process improvements. Excellent presentation & communication skills are a must. Expectations And Tasks Installation, Configurations and maintenance of database software Database upgrades, patching, migrations Develop and implement database backup and recovery solutions Control system resources usage, perform troubleshooting and diagnostics activities; Analyze resources usage (Infra and Database), analyze growth patterns, Perform Capacity planning for the Database Infrastructure. Collect and analyze database performance information; identify and implement solutions for performance problems Query optimization and tuning skills including cross database and cross server queries, analysis and troubleshooting interactions between databases, operating systems and applications with regard to performance and resources usage Experience in database programming concepts including structured query language, stored procedures and triggers Creating database tables, setting up indexes, data constraints and DB views Analyze, predict through trend analysis and resolve database system, storage and application issues Monitor SQL jobs in production and be responsible for load/hardware analysis mapping, fault tolerance and security. Evaluate and implement database technologies and utilities Review and implement database changes Provide timely response to system alerts and participate in the on-call schedule (if applicable) Participate in 24x7 rotation shift supporting production and non-production databases Drive Operational efficiency topics. Work closely with Internal/External Stakeholders, Development Architects/Managers & developers, across locations and ensure timely delivery. MSS SQL DBA Role Summary : - The role will be involved in support of highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and deployment of midrange systems along with a team of technically competent professionals. - Understanding and Performing tasks related to Implementation, Design installation and configuration of all Database products. - Coordinate and manage multiple problems and projects with different teams at the same time - Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability - Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems - Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences - Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments - Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design. - Candidate must have the ability to create business cases and present the architecture and design that they create - Demonstrated experience in leading projects, implementation teams and clients in Database configuration and assessment services, requirements gathering, storage implementations, data migration and application testing - Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently - Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team members/leads/customer/Senior management, as needed - Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements Technical / professional qualifications : - Evaluate the Database Server Hardware/Software. - Define/Recommend/Maintain database Standards and Architecture. - Future Release management for database/instance and Impact Analysis. - Research/Recommend Migration/Upgradation - Installation & Configuration of MS SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016 - Configuration knowledge in Advanced features of SQL Server 2012/2014/2016. - Develop, implement, administer and maintain security and integrity of the Application databases. - Advance Database Performance Tuning - Instance, Database, OS Parameters - Should be able to perform database reorganization - Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies - Good Working experience of Installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting of Failover Clustering, Always on Availability, Mirroring, Log shipping, - Having experience of DR setup through various synch methods. - Designing strategy towards Capacity Management(Growth) for DB tracks. - Recommending Database Security Policy, Auditing - Configuration experience in SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services - Knowledge in Cloud Integration alongside awareness of latest database trends and Technologies Behavioral Competencies : Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written) Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies Note: This job description is a general outline of the responsibilities and qualifications typically associated with the Virtualization Specialist role.
