As a Senior Equities Derivatives Developer at Barclays, your role involves designing, developing, and enhancing software using various engineering methodologies to deliver business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Participation in code reviews, promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and staying updated on industry technology trends are key aspects of this role. Key technical skills required for success in this role include in-depth experience in Core Java, OOPs concepts, Spring Frameworks, RESTful APIs, multi-threading processing, CI/CD pipelines, source control tools like Maven, Gradle, Nexus, GitLab, Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, Oracle database management, complex SQL queries, PL/SQL, and JUnit testing. Additional valuable skills include knowledge of Investment Banking, Equity Derivatives, banking domain, and problem-solving abilities. The role is based in Pune and aims at developing and improving software to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for various stakeholders. Adherence to secure coding practices, implementation of effective unit testing, and contribution to technical excellence within the organization are essential aspects of the role. If the position entails leadership responsibilities, setting strategy, driving requirements, managing resources, and delivering continuous improvements are expected.
