The Sr. Technical Specialist position provides opportunities for exposure to a range of industrial applications, for developing skills in cutting edge engineering tools, to work alongside experienced mentors and to collaborate with other Hexagon departments, and thus offering aspiring engineers options to advance their careers into other functions like product management, software development, consulting, engineering solutions, marketing, etc. Job Responsibilities Provide product technical advice via email, web communications, and phone.Build and maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge base that serves as a key resource for customers and internal teams alike.Drive customer success by developing deep knowledge of software functions and partnering with Hexagon’s global product development and engineering teams.Document and report product issues, product limitations, and customer enhancement requests.Drive product evolution and quality by providing feedback and collaborating with other departments and stakeholders.Create and deliver training classes, technical seminars, and technical marketing material.Provide technical leadership in specialist area and promote industry best practices for Hexagon software.Support product sales teams by determining customer needs, developing solutions, demonstrating the value of Hexagon software, and representing Hexagon at technical events.Research latest industry trends, continuously improve technical skills, and share knowledge within the organization.Work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, global organization. Qualifications Minimum of a master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. 5+ years of recent professional experience in engineering using a commercial FEA software – Nastran, Optistruct, Abaqus, Ansys, Hypermesh, ANSAProficiency with Hexagon software products desired – MSC Nastran, MSC Apex, Patran, Marc, DytranExperience in linear, dynamics and nonlinear structural analysisExperience with advanced Nastran capabilities like rotordynamics, superelements, modules, nonlinear contact, and/or DMAPExperience with multiphysics (thermal, fluid-structure interaction or acoustic) analysis is a plusGood general knowledge of FE modeling workflows and CAE processesExperience with solving large models using HPC methods in the Linux environmentGood knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems with python programming skillsExcellent presentation, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAvailability to travel and conduct online training as requiredHigh motivation and ability to complete tasks independently
