As a local Quality Control Engineer with expertise in valves and piping, based in Chennai (India) for Grupo Cunado, you will be working in an international environment. Your responsibilities will include technical checking during the bidding stage. This involves revising project specifications and standards, creating checklists with all additional requirements to the manufacturing standards, reviewing manufacturers" offers, summarizing deviations and strengths of supplier offers, and preparing the final technical offer in collaboration with the commercial department. Additionally, after the purchase order confirmation, you will be part of the working team supervising the order's progress from a technical standpoint. You will also review documentation from manufacturers and address any client comments to obtain final approval and release production. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing any incidences or deviations during production or final inspection. To excel in this role, you should have technical training in steel materials and engineering, along with expertise in valve and piping steel production. Knowledge of testing and non-destructive testing (NDT), as well as familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ASME, ASTM, MSS SP, API, EN, and ISO, is essential. You should have a conversational level of English proficiency and possess qualities such as being dynamic, proactive, organized, analytical during documentation reviews, and resolute in finding solutions. Effective communication skills are crucial for obtaining necessary information promptly and accurately.
