Your expertise lies in database optimization, performance tuning, automation, security, and monitoring while strictly following best practices. In this role, your responsibilities will include optimizing SQL queries and database performance by offering guidance to development teams on indexing, archiving, and script optimization. You will be expected to suggest query and DBA-level optimizations to improve execution time. Additionally, fine-tuning database performance through parameter settings such as DOP, Parallelism, Log Shipping, and Shrinking will be crucial. Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks at the database level will also fall under your purview. You will be responsible for generating and sharing daily database health reports, providing valuable insights on database growth, critical logs, and backup history. Automation of DBA-related tasks will be essential to reduce human errors and streamline database operations through the implementation of scripts and tools. Tracking and managing database maintenance activities to ensure smooth functioning and timely backups will be part of your routine tasks. As a security-focused professional, you will enhance database security configurations by performing timely security patching, managing user accounts, and safeguarding databases from vulnerabilities and unauthorized access. Actively monitoring production databases using both reactive and proactive techniques will be necessary. Developing monitoring reports and automation tools to detect issues before they impact operations is crucial in preventing unexpected downtimes by addressing potential risks in advance. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. You should have a solid 9-11 years of experience in MS SQL DBA and Developer roles. Expertise in SQL optimization, indexing strategies, and query performance tuning is a must. Strong knowledge of database security best practices, hands-on experience with Log Shipping, Backup Strategies, and High Availability Solutions, as well as proficiency in automating DBA tasks and database maintenance are essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and strong communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams are also required.,
