MS SQL Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator, your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and upgrading Microsoft SQL Server instances both on-premises and in the cloud. You will be tasked with managing database objects such as tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and functions. Monitoring database performance and implementing tuning measures to optimize performance will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will be responsible for database capacity planning and forecasting. Implementing and maintaining database backup and disaster recovery strategies will also be a crucial aspect of your job. Regular backup testing for integrity and restore capability will be required to ensure data security. In terms of security and compliance, you will be managing database security including roles, permissions, and encryption. Proactively monitoring database health using native tools or third-party monitoring solutions will be necessary. Automating routine tasks using scripts and jobs will help streamline operations. Providing L2/L3 support for database issues and troubleshooting problems like blocking, deadlocks, and query performance will be part of your daily tasks. Collaborating with developers to optimize SQL queries and database design is essential for efficient operation. You will also be configuring and maintaining Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Failover Clustering, and have knowledge of SQL Log Shipping. Participating in disaster recovery drills and ensuring readiness is critical for business continuity. Maintaining detailed documentation for database configurations, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be required to ensure smooth operations. This is a full-time position that requires in-person work at the designated location.,
