Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain robust database architectures using
SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Develop and optimize complex
SQL queries
, stored procedures, views, and triggers
Perform
database performance tuning
including indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis
Design and maintain
ER diagrams
and data models using tools like
ER/Studio, Lucidchart, or dbdiagram.io
Implement and test
backup and recovery strategies
, including
point-in-time recovery
and
HA/DR solutions
Manage
database security
, including user roles, permissions, encryption (at rest and in transit), and audit logging
Automate routine tasks using
PowerShell, Bash, or Python
, including backups, monitoring, and maintenance
Monitor database health using tools like
SQL Server Agent, Nagios, Grafana, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor
Work with
cloud platforms
such as
AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)
and
Google Cloud (Cloud SQL, BigQuery)
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability, scalability, and performance

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5-8 years of hands-on experience in
database administration and engineering
Strong command over
SQL
and
database performance tuning
Proficiency in
Linux/Unix
and
Windows Server
environments
Experience with
cloud-native database services
and monitoring tools
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
AWS Certified Database Specialty
Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer

Experience in
data security and compliance
(e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
Exposure to
DevOps practices
and
CI/CD pipelines
for database deployments
