You will be joining Thryve.Earth, a team dedicated to building a tech-enabled platform focused on seeding and developing nature-based carbon projects. As a GIS & NbS Specialist, your main responsibility will be to utilize your strong geospatial skills and passion for nature-based solutions to contribute to various aspects of carbon projects. You will be involved in developing geospatial datasets, analyzing baseline conditions, and monitoring changes over time using tools like Google Earth Engine, QGIS, and more. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in baseline measurements, eligibility checks, and implementation plans for carbon projects. Your key responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial datasets, owning GIS-related sections of Project Design Documents (PDDs), contributing to baseline measurements in the field, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to incorporate GIS insights into broader carbon modeling processes. You will also be required to stay updated with emerging GIS and remote sensing technologies, propose innovative approaches for environmental monitoring, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance your skills in carbon credit methodologies and overall NbS project design. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 3 years of professional experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, or related fields, along with a degree in a relevant field such as GIS, Remote Sensing, Forestry, or Environmental Science. Proficiency in tools like QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine, and experience with machine learning techniques applied to geospatial data are highly valued. Additionally, having a genuine interest in nature-based solutions, forestry, and carbon project development, as well as strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, will be beneficial.
