Role will fully support daily marine activities, providing technical advice and support in all marine operational matters.The role will provide experience and expertise to support marine selfverification (inspection) activities encompassing all marine assets operated or chartered by the client, thereby ensuring safe and compliant operations. Ensure compliance with all HSSE expectations and actively participate in all safety programs.Work closely with the MQA function to develop marine procedures, systems, and processes to drive safe and compliant marine operations for the client.Provide mentor support and coaching to other MQA function members in all technical matters associated with marine operations and personnel development. Support the development and implementation of systems to deliver safe and compliant marine operations at sites across client spheres of operation.Support the identification and management of risk associated with marine operations, always striving to embrace continuous improvement to minimise operational risk to the client.Advises client on marine systems related issues. Guide evaluation of relative measures of merit against specifications for competing for shipboard systems and technologies and guides others in their selection.Evaluate new and existing rules, and effectively interfaces with industry forums and trade groups on improvements/revision to existing regulations, standards, and guidance.Anticipates technology needs and opportunities in marine systems, and initiates actions to develop/qualify and deploy technology in a timely manner. Participate/lead failure investigations or contractor claims.Leads troubleshooting and recovery of marine system failures.Ensure both assets and vessels comply with local, national, and International maritime legislation inclusive of Classification Society and Flag State requirements. Responsible for facilitating both internal and external audits and agreeing any resulting actions and applicable closure dates.Establish and maintain effective relationships with others ensuring effective collaboration with the various Technical Authorities (Marine, Engineering, Floating Structure, Floating Systems etc) HSSE Teams based within the client.Assist in the preparation of policy and procedural documents as directed and agreed.You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position. Qualifications Class 2 Marine Engineers Certificate of Competency (Motor)orMarine degree-based qualification together with extensive industry experience as Naval architect / Classification surveyor etc. Lead AuditorAdvanced dangerous cargo endorsement (Oil or Chemical or Gas)Desired Candidate ProfileClass 1 Marine Engineers Certificate of Competency (Motor / Steam)Multiple advanced dangerous cargo endorsements Experience Experience as 2nd Engineer on board oil, gas, chemical tankers, or DP offshore vessel for >2yrsorMarine degree-based qualification together with extensive industry experience as Naval architect / Classification surveyor etc Experience in developing DP FMEAs, conducting proving trials and provision of DP assurance. Job Objective: To lead and institutionalize a preventive, risk-based and future-ready Material Quality Assurance System for Avaadas Solar and Wind projects. This includes ensuring all procured materialsdomestic or globalconform to applicable technical specifications, national/international quality standards, and project requirements. The role will drive implementation of the SQ (Supplier Quality Management System), vendor performance monitoring, QMS audits, and inspection strategies leveraging technology, with a focus on improving First Pass Yield and reducing site defects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: 1. People Responsibilities - Lead and develop the MQA team (SQAs, Inspectors, 3rd party QA). - Ensure timely training, certification, and deployment of material quality engineers. - Build quality capability across vendors and suppliers. 2. Operational Responsibilities - Ensure effective implementation of SQMS policy and related SOPs. - Participate in project kick-off to define MQP (Material Quality Plan). - Approve and oversee preparation of Inspection Method Statements. - Classify parts as per Green/Yellow/Red categories. - Ensure timely and quality inspection (Factory, Video, Documentary). - Drive digitization and AI enablement for inspections and performance tracking. - Ensure timely issuance of MDCCs based on inspection outcomes. 3. Customer / Stakeholder Responsibilities - Interface with Procurement, Construction, Engineering, and O&M teams. - Proactively communicate quality issues, risks, and mitigation plans. - Resolve vendor-related grievances and implement preventive actions. - Drive improvements based on VOC (Voice of Customer) and site feedback. Job Responsibility (Breakdown): 2 . Operational Process a. Human Resourcing: - Resource planning and deployment of material QA engineers across projects. - Define job roles, responsibilities, and certification requirements. b. Equipment Resourcing: - Define inspection toolkits and ensure calibration of equipment used by SQA. - Approve software platforms/IT tools for inspection data management. c. Days Planning: - Daily planning of inspection activities, priority reviews, issue closures. - Monitor real-time inspection data and initiate mid-course corrections. d. Plant QA Management System: - Monitor vendor performance via KPIs (SQI, MDCC, defect rates). - Conduct & Manage QMS audits and drive implementation of improvement action plans. - Regularly upgrade vendor classification based on QMS capability. 3. MQA Daily Performance Review, Improvement & Weekly Reporting - Lead daily MQA performance calls with the QA team. - Identify chronic issues through trend analysis of inspection data and NCs. - Submit weekly dashboards and reports to GM Quality. 4. Manage MQA Related Grievances - Investigate grievances from stakeholders (site, procurement, vendor). - Drive structured CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and follow-up. - Escalate critical issues with resolution roadmap to management. Qualification & Certification Required: - B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory) - Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2015 - Certified in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Solving (8D, A3, FMEA) - Additional certification in Supplier Quality, Six Sigma preferred
