Job TitleSenior Accounts Manager Job SummaryThe Senior Accounts Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall accounting function, including financial reporting, taxation, import duty compliance, and Goods & Services Tax (GST) management. This role ensures adherence to statutory requirements, optimizes tax planning, and provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions. The position involves supervising the accounts team, liaising with regulatory authorities, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Taxation & GST Manage all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, including corporate tax, GST, and TDS. Ensure timely filing of GST returns, reconciliation of input tax credits, and compliance with GST laws. Provide tax planning strategies to optimize liabilities while ensuring compliance. Import Duty & Customs Compliance Monitor and manage import-related transactions, including customs clearance, import duty payments, and documentation. Ensure compliance with customs regulations and maintain accurate duty records. Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and banks for import-related financial settlements. Audit & Compliance Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Stay updated with changes in tax laws, GST regulations, and import duty policies. Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise and mentor the accounts team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Develop and implement best practices in accounting and compliance processes. Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation laws, GST, and import duty regulations Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, or ERP systems) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong leadership and team management capabilities Effective communication and stakeholder management skills QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce Professional certifications such as CA, CMA, or CPA (preferred) 7–12 years of experience in accounting and taxation, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
