Motion Designer

As a motion designer at Skunkworks, you will play a crucial role in bringing stories to life through captivating animations. Your understanding of the core principles of animation such as timing, spacing, easing, arcs, and anticipation will be key in pushing the boundaries of motion graphics. Working alongside the core motion team, you will be involved in crafting animations for various events, launches, and experiences showcased on large screens. Collaboration with design, video, Unreal, and C4D teams, as well as the sound designer, will be a regular part of your work, allowing you to create everything from subtle micro-interactions to impactful moments. During the initial 3-month probation/training period, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and familiarize yourself with the workflows at Skunkworks. Upon successful completion, you will transition into a full-time role where you will continue to grow and excel in your career. To thrive in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of motion theory and animation principles, demonstrated through a compelling reel or project work that showcases your creativity, timing, and precision. Your curiosity to explore diverse visual styles and storytelling formats, coupled with a strong desire to learn and improve, will be highly valued. Proficiency in tools such as After Effects is essential, with additional experience in Blender, C4D, or Notch considered advantageous. If you have a background in sketching, it will be an added benefit to your role as a motion designer at Skunkworks. Moreover, having animated to music, voice, or rhythm previously, a keen eye for clean graphs and smooth easing, and a long-term commitment to building a successful career in motion design will earn you bonus points in this position.
