Key Responsibilities: 1. Raw Material Quality Inspection: Inspect incoming materials (solid wood, plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminates, veneers, adhesives, upholstery materials, fasteners, etc.) for conformance to specifications. Use tools like moisture meters , calipers , and thickness gauges to verify dimensional and material quality. Maintain Material Inspection Reports (MIR) and approve/reject materials with traceability. 2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): Conduct stage-wise inspections (cutting, CNC routing, edge-banding, lamination, carcass assembly, sanding, polishing, upholstery, etc.). Verify dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments (tape, scale, try square, vernier caliper). Monitor edge finishing , surface flatness , joint strength , adhesive application , and assembly tolerances . Conduct in-process defect analysis and ensure first-pass yield (FPY) is within defined limits. 3. Final Product Inspection (FQC): Perform final inspection on completed furniture items (wardrobes, beds, chairs, modular units, etc.). Ensure compliance with design drawings, BOM, client specifications, ergonomic dimensions , surface finish (PU, melamine, lacquer), hardware installation, and packaging standards. Conduct functionality tests : drawer smoothness, door alignment, load-bearing, stability, upholstery firmness. 4. Process & Quality Documentation: Prepare and maintain QC Checklists , Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) , and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) logs. Maintain calibration logs of inspection tools and ensure tool accuracy. Contribute to internal audits and external certifications (ISO 9001, FSC, etc.). 5. Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Identify quality defects and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools like Fishbone Diagram , 5 Whys , Pareto Analysis . Coordinate with production and design teams to implement Corrective Actions . Participate in Kaizen , Lean Manufacturing , and 5S activities to enhance process quality and reduce waste.
