Job Description

The Model Governance Analyst in the Cybersecurity Science and Analytics (CS&A) team at HSBC plays a crucial role in safeguarding customer and company assets by overseeing and ensuring compliance with AI/ML models. As part of the Advanced Projects team, you will collaborate with global cybersecurity specialists, data scientists, and software engineers to streamline model governance within Cybersecurity and the bank. This role requires a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include processing model governance tickets, reviewing model use cases for compliance, supporting the governance lifecycle, and continuously improving model governance policies. You will also maintain a centralized model inventory, prepare reports for regulatory compliance, and identify process improvements to streamline workflows. Additionally, you will be involved in Agile project management tasks such as preparing communications for stakeholders, documenting requirements, managing project timelines, and providing administrative support to the Model Oversight Chair. Collaboration with diverse teams is essential, and you will be expected to build positive relationships with internal collaborators and provide regular updates on AI model activity. To excel in this role, you should have 3-5 years of experience in financial services, AI/ML risk management, model governance, regulatory compliance, or technology. A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related fields is preferred, or equivalent career experience in data, technology, or programming. Technical skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#), familiarity with Cyber/AI technologies, and experience with Agile project management tools are advantageous.
