Job Summary: Naidunia.com is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sub Editor to join our dynamic editorial team. The Sub Editor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness of Hindi news content before publication on our digital platform. This role requires a strong command of the Hindi language, excellent editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced online news environment. Responsibilities: • Editing and Proofreading: Thoroughly edit and proofread news articles, features, and other content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, clarity, factual accuracy, and adherence to house style. • Headline and Caption Writing: Craft compelling and accurate headlines, subheadings, and photo captions that are optimized for online readability and SEO. • Content Optimization: Ensure content is formatted correctly for the web, including the use of appropriate headings, subheadings, bullet points, and hyperlinks. • Fact-Checking: Verify the accuracy of facts, figures, names, and other information presented in the content. • Rewriting and Restructuring: Rewrite or restructure content as necessary to improve clarity, flow, and readability while maintaining the original meaning and journalistic integrity. • Ensuring Editorial Standards: Adhere to the Jagran editorial guidelines, style guide, and legal requirements. • Staying Updated: Keep abreast of current events, trends in online journalism, and developments in the Hindi language. • SEO Awareness: Understand basic SEO principles and ensure headlines and content are optimized for search engines. • Multimedia Integration: Ensure seamless integration of text with images, videos, and other multimedia elements. • Meeting Deadlines: Manage workload effectively and ensure all assignedtasks are completed accurately and within tight deadlines. Qualifications and Skills: • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or Hindi Literature. A Masters degree is preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 02 years of experience as a Sub Editor or similar role in a Hindi digital news publication. • Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in Hindi with excellent command over grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
