Role & responsibilities : 1. Program VMCs using CAM software based on engineering drawings and specifications. 2. Part setting and programming in 2D & 3D. 3. Post a 3D program through software to the machine. 4. Set controls and regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, and angle of cut. 5. Machine Setup: Prepare the VMC machine for operation by installing and aligning workpieces, tooling, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and job specifications. 6. Conduct tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and accuracy 7. Operation: Operate VMC machines to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and other machining operations to produce parts with precision and accuracy. 8. Monitoring: Monitor machine operations during the production process to ensure adherence to quality standards, making necessary adjustments to tooling and machine settings as required. 9. Inspection: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications. 10. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on VMC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components to ensure optimal performance and longevity. 11. Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures. 12. Documentation: Record production data, including machine settings, tooling changes, and quality inspection results, accurately and in a timely manner. 13. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues that may arise during the machining process, such as tool wear, material deformation, or machine malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. 14. Train and mentor junior machinists as needed. 15. Support company production requirements at all times. 16. Programmer must have experience and knowledge of Delcam Powermill software.
