Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Reliability Planning and Execution: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute reliability plans, ensuring alignment with program requirements and goals. Reliability Testing Coordination: Coordinating reliability testing activities, including system reliability testing and reliability demonstration testing. Result Review and External Partnership Reviewing reliability testing results to identify areas for improvement and inform future testing strategies and partnering with external agencies to perform reliability testing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Statistical and DFR Expertise: Maintaining and applying strong statistical and Design for Reliability (DFR) knowledge to inform reliability planning, testing and analysis. Project Leadership: Plan, schedule, and lead project assignments using appropriate engineering techniques, processes, and methods with minimal guidance. Reliability Requirements: Identify and define Reliability related requirements from applicable product requirements, use profiles, and risk mitigations. Guidance and Collaboration: Provide guidance to design teams in Reliability process execution using relevant methodologies, tools & techniques, and collaborate with cross-functional resources involved in activities. Reliability Predictions & Metrics: Establish Reliability predictions, Reliability testing, and post marketmetrics. Communication and Project Management: Create and communicate plans, tasks, deliverables, and status, and manage time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain an effective and collaborative working relationship with internal and external development partners. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Lead the troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to Reliability aspects of devices and associated systems. Post-Market Support: Support sustaining teams in Post Market events and Investigations. Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessment activities, such as DFMEA, to ensure reliability goals are appropriate for risk mitigations. Education & Qualification Bachelor s degree in mechanical, electrical discipline, Post graduate degree in Reliability preferred Qualification: Bachelor s degree in mechanical, electrical discipline, Post graduate degree in Reliability preferred. Experience: 15+ years of R&D experience; experience in medical device industry preferred Experience/expertise in the following areas: Design for Reliability planning and management, establishing Reliability Requirements & Goals, Reliability Prediction using different methods (e.g. Parts count & Parts stress methods). Strong Working knowledge of Reliability Analysis (statistical techniques), process and methods Certifications: Six Sigma Yellow Belt Software: PTC Windchill, Minitab, C-language, MATLAB, VBA basics, RAM Commander, Item-Tool Kit, Reliasoft (Weibull++, -Predict), MS-Office, and Easy-Fit Standards: knowledge about MIL_HDBK-217, Telcordia, EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, NPRD, NSWC, EPRD, MIL-HDBK-338. Working experience on Electromechanical devices Design for Reliability life cycle Good understanding on standards like MIL-HDBK-217/ Telcordia and NPRD 95. Reliability modeling & allocation to set the reliability target for subsystems and components. Experience developing test strategies, protocols, reports and test method validation documentation. Working experience in designing / executing Accelerated Life Testing Working experience on statistical tools and processes (Field data analysis techniques like Weibull analysis) Planning and performing reliability growth and Reliability Demonstration Testing and expertise and fluency in Excel, Minitab, Windchill / Relex, Reliasoft, etc. preferred. Certified Reliability Professional/Engineer (or equivalent) preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal form

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced R&D Engineer/Chemist from a polymer & colour sciences background interested in advancing their career within Avient’s Corporate Technology Group. The R&D scientist is responsible for identifying and innovating new technologies for color matching techniques, devices, and color rendering. In addition, the scientist must possess a good understanding of pigment/dye chemistries and their suitability for applications with engineering polymers. Successful candidates will be creative and impactful within a team environment. Essential Functions Conduct work in a safe, respectful and ethical manner Drive innovation that enriches Avient’s intellectual property portfolio Take responsibility for colour and spectroscopy expertise as a core member of colour system digitization project Evaluate, connect, correlate, and maintain data in current colour system and digital platform Refine, aggregate, and organize current colorant database Interact with data scientists, data analysts and IT to drive development of colour matching interface Conduct test on new equipment for implementation of digital platform Write work instruction and organize training for colour, device, digital platform, interfaces, etc. Coach and train commercial and technical teams to use device & digital platform, and trouble shoot Work with cross business unit and collaborate with colour specialists within Avient Other duties as based on need at time Education And Experience MSc (PhD Preferred) in Colour Science, Organic Chemistry, or Polymer Science Possess significant experience in color matching for plastics resins and in management of colorant database Good understanding of masterbatch production process, including mixing, extrusion and palletization. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for plastics resins by applications and industries Strong skills in the scientific method and use of design of experiments for data-driven research Experience analytical characterization techniques for rheological, mechanical and, thermal properties of polymers Experience with quality control methods, part & product approval processes and engagement with OEMs & customers is desirable.
