Role Overview: Responsible for designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies specifically for aerospace applications, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for aerospace systems, following applicable standards (e.g., AS9100, IPC standards). Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and procurement to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Perform design reviews, validation, and verification activities to ensure compliance with aerospace requirements. Support prototype development and testing activities, including troubleshooting design issues. Ensure designs meet electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements specific to aerospace applications. Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM) for wiring harnesses and cable assemblies. Work closely with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for design processes and standards adherence. Stay updated on aerospace industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field. Proven experience in designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors. Proficiency in CAD tools for wiring harness design (e.g., CATIA, AutoCAD Electrical). Knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-STD. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical design principles. Familiarity with environmental and safety requirements for aerospace components. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and quality orientation.
