As a Migration Services Senior Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in leading and executing the migration of Linux-based systems and applications to cloud environments. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with various teams to ensure smooth migration processes, optimize migration paths, and promote the adoption of Linux technologies within the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the migration of Linux-based systems from diverse platforms to cloud environments, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and minimal downtime. - Provide in-depth technical expertise in Linux systems, encompassing system administration, configuration, and performance tuning. - Develop scripts for data transformation to guarantee compatibility between source and target systems. - Automate data cleansing and validation procedures to identify inconsistencies and errors in migrated data. - Collaborate with other teams such as Data Engineers, AI Developers, and Solution Architects to ensure the success of migration projects. - Create and update comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes. Qualifications Required: - Profound proficiency in Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu. - Experience in configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of Linux systems. - Demonstrated experience in migrating Linux systems to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. - Strong skills in scripting languages like Bash and Python. - Expertise in automating data transformation and validation processes. - Knowledge of schema conversion, compatibility checks, and data cleansing. - Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, AI Developers, and Architects. - Strong emphasis on clear documentation, process alignment, and maintaining technical documentation. - Experience in standardizing migration procedures and system configurations.
