As a New Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end product development from concept to production. This includes translating customer requirements or internal concepts into detailed product designs and specifications, developing Bill of Materials (BOMs), preparing product specifications, development timelines, and cost estimates. Collaboration with design, engineering, and prototyping teams is vital to create innovative and cost-effective products. You will oversee sampling, testing, and final approval for production readiness. In the area of Sourcing & Vendor Development, you will be tasked with identifying, evaluating, and onboarding vendors with expertise in metal casting, forging, machining, sheet metal fabrication, electroplating, and other relevant processes. You will conduct technical audits and factory assessments to validate vendor capabilities. The ideal candidate for this role should have 12-15 years of experience in product development and sourcing, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment. A strong understanding of metal types such as brass, aluminum, steel, zinc, and their manufacturing characteristics is essential. Expertise in various manufacturing and finishing processes like electroplating, powder coating, and polishing is required. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and familiarity with SolidWorks software is preferred. The willingness to travel frequently to factories and vendor sites is expected.
