As a leader at Ciena, your primary responsibility will be to build, manage, and lead a high-performance and velocity agile Salesforce Software Delivery development team. You will be tasked with recruiting, planning, assigning, tracking, and developing individuals within the team to ensure optimal performance. In addition, you will be responsible for driving the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation process to guarantee high-quality delivery to test teams and product owners. Your role will also involve investigating and collecting information to resolve process issues found in current or past releases, with a focus on improving software quality through automation. You will be expected to drive innovation, take initiatives to enhance the software delivery environment, and suggest tools and processes to improve the quality of deliverables. In your day-to-day activities, you will ensure a smooth software lifecycle for ongoing releases and sprints, collaborating closely with various stakeholders such as Architecture, Product Owners, Service owners, and other global Salesforce SW engineering and admin teams. Additionally, you will prioritize and drive the resolution of customer issues, actively engaging with customer support teams and vendors to refine the available knowledge base for enhanced automation. Your collaboration with stakeholders including Service Owner/Product owner teams, Enterprise and domain architects, 3rd party vendors, and Program Management will be essential for successful feature delivery. You will attend and drive Scrum ceremonies, protect the team, monitor velocity KPIs, report on progress, and provide technical leadership to drive issue resolution. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, along with 12+ years of software development experience and 8+ years of Salesforce experience. You should have exposure to software/product development cycles, mastery of best practices and architectural patterns in Salesforce, recent experience in new Sales Cloud implementations, and be Scrum Master certified. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, proficiency in tools like JIRA, Git-based tools like GitHub, VSCode, Salesforce DX (sfdx cli), Tooling, Metadata APIs, and excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are also essential for this position.
