The Independent MES consultant will guide Applied Materials in the requirements, design, and development of a full Manufacturing Execution System (MES) tailored for the EMS industry. This role involves guiding the technical direction, creating high-level designs, and ensuring the successful implementation of the product's roadmap. Key Responsibilities: Drive the technical direction for the SmartFactory MES for EMS product, including detailed requirement, architecture and high-level design. Identify High-Value Problems (HVPs) that the MES for EMS solution will solve to create a robust solution for the EMS market. Evaluate other CIM applications for suitability in the EMS industry (e.g., E3, SPC, FD, MM) and determine integration requirements. Investigate and guide the long-term strategy for the MES for EMS solution, considering the future needs of the EMS industry. Create Proof of Concept (POC) materials and ensure the success of the beta version with our first customer. Create documents and communicate progress to APG leadership. Mentor and train the product team on EMS manufacturing and CIM requirements. Evaluate gaps in the current APG CIM solution and redesign it for the EMS industry. Provide MES product specifications and technical designs. Work with the Engineering team to create a detailed architecture. Enable (through contacts) & conduct customer site visits to align solutions. Qualifications: 20+ years of Solution Architect level experience. 10+ years of experience in building or using an MES in the EMS industry. Strong understanding of MES solutions (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Critical Manufacturing, Rockwell MES, etc), ERP integration and their integration with other CIM applications. Proven experience in driving technical direction and creating high-level designs. Excellent mentoring and training skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise documentation and presentations. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
