Define and own the product roadmap for high-risk merchant onboarding workflows across CP and CNP channels (POS terminals, mobile, e-commerce, marketplaces). Design intelligent, configurable onboarding flows that support enhanced due diligence, KYC/KYB, and transaction monitoring. Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Underwriting teams to implement onboarding controls aligned with industry regulations (PCI DSS, AML, OFAC, GDPR, etc.). Integrate with third-party services for identity verification, fraud scoring, and high-risk underwriting (e.g., LexisNexis, Middesk, Alloy, etc.). Work closely with processorsparticularly TSYS to support compliant and scalable merchant setup, including MCC classification, BIN mapping, terminal provisioning, and settlement configuration. Develop product features to automate high-risk approval workflows, document collection, monitoring, and flag resolution. Define product KPIs such as onboarding time, approval ratio, auto-decision rates, fraud incident trends, and residual risk metrics. Partner with UX/UI and engineering to design flows optimized for self-service, partner-led onboarding, and multi-MID merchant portfolios. Drive execution using Agile practices; maintain user stories, grooming sessions, sprint backlogs, and release planning. Requirements 4–7 years of experience in product management within payments, acquiring, or fintech , with a focus on high-risk verticals. Deep understanding of card-present and card-not-present payments, MID assignment, underwriting models, and merchant risk profiling. Hands-on experience integrating with TSYS for merchant boarding, testing, error management, and data provisioning. Familiarity with merchant tiers (MCC codes), chargeback risk thresholds, and monitoring frameworks (MATCH, TMF, etc.). Experience with onboarding high-risk industries such as adult content, gaming, nutraceuticals, firearms, crypto, or CBD. Knowledge of tools and services used in high-risk merchant KYC/KYB, AML checks, and transaction fraud detection. Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with risk, compliance, engineering, support, and executive teams. Proficiency with JIRA, Postman, Figma, Confluence, and analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Mixpanel, or Tableau). Data-driven mindset with the ability to define, track, and act on operational KPIs. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with acquiring banks, ISOs, or PayFacs supporting high-risk merchant onboarding. Knowledge of regional compliance rules (e.g., FinCEN, PSD2, RBI) and network rules (Visa, Mastercard high-risk programs). Understanding of tokenization, 3DS2, BIN sponsorship, and global onboarding challenges. Technical background or prior role interfacing directly with development or integration teams.
