Job Description

As a Merchandising Head for a home textile made-ups manufacturing and export company in Karur, you will be positioned as a strong, accountable leader who owns the complete order life cycle and ensures on-time delivery to international buyers. **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end merchandising function from receipt of purchase order through to final shipment. Acting as the primary interface between international buyers, internal departments, and external suppliers, you will ensure on-time, in-full execution of all orders and maintain a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and manage the merchandising team, allocate accounts/styles, and monitor daily follow-up to ensure all milestones are met. - Handle buyer communication for enquiries, costing, order confirmations, approvals, production status, and shipment planning with a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism. - Develop, implement, and control detailed Time & Action (T&A) plans for each order, coordinating closely with planning, production, purchase, quality, and logistics to achieve on-time delivery. - Oversee sampling, product development, and approvals to align with buyer requirements and technical specifications. - Work with the quality team to ensure all orders meet required quality, testing, and compliance standards before shipment. - Track key performance indicators such as OTIF, rework, claims, and lead times, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the merchandising function. **Qualifications:** - Bachelors degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion/Textile Design, or a related discipline. - 6-10 years of relevant experience in home textile merchandising or production merchandising, preferably within export-oriented units, with at least 2-3 years in a team-leading capacity. - Strong product knowledge in home textile made-ups such as kitchen towels, table linen, aprons, cushions, and related articles. **Skills and Competencies:** - Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage international customer relationships and internal stakeholder expectations. - Proven leadership capabilities to guide, motivate, and develop a merchandising team while maintaining accountability and discipline. - Strong organizational and time-management skills with a structured approach to planning, follow-up, and problem-solving. - Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or order-management systems, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
