MEP Electrical BIM Modeler

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled MEP Electrical BIM Modeler with a working knowledge of HVAC systems to join our engineering team. The role involves creating, developing, and coordinating BIM models for electrical and mechanical (HVAC) systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clash-free integration within multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Electrical BIM models (lighting, power distribution, cable trays, fire alarm, ELV, etc.) in Autodesk Revit.
• Support HVAC BIM modeling, including ducting, piping, equipment layout, and coordination.
• Ensure model accuracy and compliance with project standards, specifications, and LOD requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, structural, and MEP teams to resolve clash detection issues using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Prepare and update construction/shop drawings from BIM models.
• Maintain BIM project files, templates, and families as per company standards.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation from BIM models.
• Follow project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and company BIM standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of proven experience in MEP BIM Modeling (Electrical focus, with exposure to HVAC).
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP), AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, clash detection, and coordination processes.
• Familiarity with international codes & standards (NEC, IEC, ASHRAE, etc.) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

• Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
