MEP - Cost Estimation Engineer

As a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Cost & Contracts for MEP services, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Prepare and review cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for MEP projects. - Analyze vendor quotations and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. - Ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle, identifying savings and value engineering opportunities. In terms of Project Execution & Quantity Surveying, you will be expected to have: - Minimum 3 years of hands-on execution experience in MEP/electrical projects. - At least 1 year of Quantity Surveying experience, including measurement verification and billing. - Conduct site visits prior to tender submission to assess scope, feasibility, and costing. Your responsibilities will also include Vendor & Market Engagement, such as: - Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers across all major MEP brands and materials. - Staying updated on market rates, product availability, and alternate specifications. Additionally, you will be responsible for Documentation & Reporting, including: - Preparing cost comparison sheets, contract summaries, and negotiation notes. - Supporting senior management in client/vendor meetings and commercial discussions. Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong proficiency in MS Excel for costing, analysis, and reporting. - Excellent communication skills in English and local languages (Kannada/Tamil preferred). - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. - Confidence in attending negotiation meetings and presenting cost insights. Preferred Background: - Prior experience with MEP contractors, electrical contracting firms, or construction companies. - Exposure to both site-level execution and office-based tendering/contracts functions.
