The Manufacturing Chemist is responsible to oversee and manage the formulation and production processes of cosmetic products as well as will ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with regulatory standards, product specifications, and quality norms, while maintaining efficiency and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Supervise and execute batch manufacturing of cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, talc, Lip balm, etc. as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch manufacturing records (BMR). Ensure accurate weighing, mixing, heating, cooling, and filling of raw materials and ingredients as per approved formulations. Maintain hygiene and GMP standards in the manufacturing area. Conduct in-process quality checks during various stages of production to ensure product consistency and quality. Coordinate with the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams for product testing and release. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation including batch records, logbooks, and production reports. Ensure compliance with applicable cosmetic regulations (such as BIS, FDA, or CDSCO guidelines). Manage raw material inventory for production and raise material requisitions when required. Provide training to production operators and helpers regarding procedures and safety standards. Participate in validation, scale-up, and transfer of new formulations from R&D to production. Key Skills & Competencies Required : Diploma/Certificate or Bachelor's degree in B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field.. Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and regulatory requirements. Experience of the development in Skin care products on latest alternatives of functional ingredients. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for formulation and testing. Conducting R&D of formulations and monitoring their stability. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and to take decision independently with minimum guidance.
