Role: Medical Physicist Location: Dwarka, Delhi What You'll Do: Quality Assurance: Perform routine quality assurance testing and maintenance of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards. Dosimetry: Calculate and verify radiation dose distributions for treatment planning in radiation oncology, ensuring accuracy and precision in patient care. Calibration: Calibrate and maintain radioactive sources, treatment machines, and imaging devices, guaranteeing adherence to safety regulations and protocols. Patient Safety: Oversee radiation safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with radiation oncologists, radiologists, and other clinical staff to optimize treatment plans and imaging protocols based on best practices and latest research. Education: Provide training and educational support to medical staff and residents on radiation physics and safety procedures. Research and Development: Participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new techniques and technologies in medical physics. Education Required : M.Sc. (Medical Physics), B.Sc.(Medical Physics) With RSO Certification - Level 3 Knowledge, skills, abilities required: Technical aptitude Manual dexterity Patient care and education Accuracy in record keeping Attention to detail Active Listening, Reading Comprehension, Speaking, Monitoring, problem Sensitivity JOB DESCRIPTION: Planning, supervising and ensuring safe and accurate radiotherapy treatment of patients & providing advice about radiation protection. Engaging in technical procedures related with monitoring or assessing patient care and treatment. Position radiation fields, radiation beams, and patient to allow for most effective treatment of patient's disease, using computer. To liaise closely with doctors to add technical results to patient reports; Processing complex patient image data; Researching new equipment developments and techniques, reviewing existing local practice, advising on procurement of new equipment and compiling reports to initiate changes; Commissioning new or upgraded equipment to achieve compatibility with existing machines; Monitoring equipment to ensure that correct and consistent results or outputs are achieved and ensuring that ongoing maintenance routines are followed; Drafting and developing policies for operating equipment; Attend to troubleshooting problems with hardware and software; Researching, developing and evaluating new analytical techniques Acting as the on-call duty physicist to respond to problems and provide advice and technical assistance. Helping students in department for preparing & analyzing RT plan for study protocols/ thesis. Active participation in the teaching programs. Performing periodical Quality Assurance programs in the department. Demonstration and guidance to junior staff & trainees. Be disciplined & punctual, avoid late coming & absenteeism.
