Reporting to: Head of the Organisation & Program Coordinator

Place of Job: Goa

Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical degree.

Experience: Experience in paediatrics, community medicine and/or palliative care is highly desirable.

Language: English and Hindi is essential. Marathi, Konkani, Kannada desirable.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our Home-Based Paediatric Palliative Care Team. This role involves providing medical care and symptom management to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions in their homes. The position requires clinical expertise, emotional sensitivity, and a commitment to holistic, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and symptom management for paediatric palliative care patients in home settings.
  • Develop and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Offer emotional support and clear communication to families during complex and sensitive situations, including end-of-life care.
  • Participate in home visits, OPD at South Goa district hospital with the care team, ensuring continuity of care and crisis management when needed.
  • Collaborate with community providers, hospitals, and specialists to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, reports, and documentation.
  • Attend weekly meetings, training programs and activities planned for children and their families.

  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and able to work effectively in emotionally charged environments.
  • Willingness to engage in community work.
