Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Perform detailed audits of E/M coded medical records for accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Review clinical documentation to ensure it supports assigned E/M codes.
Identify coding errors or inconsistencies and provide corrective feedback to coding staff.
Ensure adherence to payer-specific coding policies and national coding standards (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).
Collaborate with physicians, coders, and billing teams to resolve coding issues.
Prepare audit reports and track quality metrics related to E/M coding accuracy.
Assist in training and educating coders on proper E/M coding practices and updates.

Preferred candidate profile

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of E/M coding guidelines and CMS regulations.
Experience with medical records, clinical documentation, and auditing processes.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
