Position: Medical Coder

Shift Timings: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST

JOB PURPOSE / ROLE

• The candidate must have at least 3 years of coding experience for profee physician practices, with various surgical specialties as well as E/M.
• Accurately code medical records for evaluation and management services, diagnoses, and procedures
• Accurately code medical records for multispecialty profee physician coding services
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Stay up-to-date on new and changing coding rules
• Responsible and accountable for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information.
• Follow HIPAA security policies and procedures affecting your job, and report any suspected or actual violation or breach
• Maintain a minimum of 95% accuracy
• Maintain departmental or project specific productivity standards
• Requires long periods of time sitting and using keyboard and mouse

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Minimum 3 years professional production coding experience
• Extensive healthcare industry knowledge and experience in coding, compliance and reimbursement for physician practices including CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers & ICD-10-CM
• Coding expertise in multiple specialties as mentioned below:
• All primary care
• Behavioral Health
• E/M
• Sleep Study
• Internal Medicine
• Family Practice
• Extensive knowledge of AMA, OIG, CMS and other national coding and compliance guidelines
• Broad understanding of CPT Assistants and Coding Clinics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented and deadline driven attitude
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and internet)
• Ability to multitask and keep a sense of urgency
• Ability to think critically
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong time management, organization skills, and work ethic
