Role Overview: As a Research Associate specializing in Medical Anthropology at Munyongo India Private Limited, your primary role is to gather and provide specialized knowledge regarding cultural, social, and behavioral aspects of health and wellness. Your focus will be on understanding the dynamics between allopathic medicine, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), and Treatment Seeking Behavior (TSB) patterns within diverse communities. Your responsibilities include conducting ethnographic research, analyzing TSB patterns, collaborating with cross-functional teams, disseminating knowledge, and planning and executing field studies. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct ethnographic research in diverse settings to understand the dynamics between allopathic medicine and CAM - Engage with communities to collect qualitative data in a respectful and meaningful manner - Analyze Treatment Seeking Behavior (TSB) patterns to identify factors influencing healthcare choices and outcomes - Collaborate with engineers, healthcare professionals, and project managers to integrate anthropological insights into healthcare solutions - Translate research findings into actionable strategies and communicate them effectively across interdisciplinary teams - Plan and execute field studies in various cultural contexts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability - Travel frequently to conduct research and engage directly with study populations Qualification Required: - Masters or PhD in Anthropology with a focus on Medical Anthropology - Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies and ethnographic study design - Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to engage effectively with diverse populations - Excellent communication skills to convey complex anthropological concepts to non-specialists - Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including to remote areas for research and community engagement efforts Company Information: Munyongo India Private Limited is an industrial, financial, data, and software engineering company with expertise in mathematical modeling and operations research.
