Key Responsibilities: Understand various simulation tools and possess user-level proficiency. Develop sub-systems of train systems and specialize in simulation of all sub-systems for TCMS software testing. Understand electrical schematics and railway sub-systems and prepare simulation testing plans. Investigate electronic application and systems problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results with guidance from more experienced team members. Apply and improve electronic application and systems development processes and tools, including system specification, modeling and simulation, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting. Obtain input from customers, technical and product teams, manufacturing engineers, supplier partners, and other stakeholders to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions. Make decisions in the areas of electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and test that impact the quality and performance of calibrated subsystems and feature classes of electronic subsystems. Review work of less-experienced developers/testers to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design. Provide independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems, or services with greater elements of ambiguity over the senior or lead engineer level and with full accountability to the project team. Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site. Coordinate and direct work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assist in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers. Provide support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continue to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role. Operate as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent Bachelors degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required. Post-graduate (Masters) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
