Prototyping & Testing Direct the prototyping and testing phases of product development, identifying design flaws or areas for improvement. Analyze test results and make recommendations for design modifications. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to refine designs for ease of production. Innovation & Optimization Continuously seek opportunities for innovation, and sustainable design optimization. Propose new mechanical design technologies, materials, and methods to improve product performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability. Mentorship & Collaboration Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and competence development opportunities. Foster collaboration across departments to resolve design or product issues and ensure smooth product deployment. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry/company standards, codes, and regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for all designs, testing procedures, and changes in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Continuous Improvement Contributes to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, promoting best practices, and participating in root cause analysis of design issues or failures.
