The role of Design Engineer in the Renewable Energy Industry involves using high-resolution aerial imagery in online solar design software to accurately create a 2D outline of a customer's house and then develop an accurate 3D model of the house. This is done through the utilization of the LIDAR function in solar design software. The main responsibility is to complete the design within the committed time frame to the client's satisfaction. In addition to creating designs, the Design Engineer is also responsible for developing and preparing layout drawings. It is essential for the individual to gain a deep understanding of photovoltaic (PV) system components such as modules, racking, inverters, and Balance of Systems (BOS). The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong 2D AutoCAD skills, including knowledge of layer management, XREFs manipulation, and other related functions. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective organizational skills are also crucial for success in this role. It is important to note that male candidates should be willing to work in night shifts, while female candidates will be assigned day shifts.
