The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring timely completion of refurbishment and repair activities while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities Workshop Management Lead day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and productivity. Supervise mechanics, technicians, and support staff involved in refurbishing construction and mining machines. Allocate jobs based on skill levels and monitor job progress. Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables. Technical Oversight Provide technical guidance for diagnosing faults, repairs, overhauls, and rebuilding of machines such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, and dumpers. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols. Review job cards, technical reports, and final inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship. Planning & Coordination Prepare workshop schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely delivery of refurbished machines. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and management for smooth execution of projects. Work closely with the service and sales teams for machine delivery timelines and readiness. People & Performance Management Train and upskill workshop staff on latest repair techniques and quality practices. Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with company standards. Conduct regular meetings, safety briefings, and performance reviews. Reporting & Documentation Maintain records of all workshop activities, machine history, and service logs. Prepare reports on productivity, turnaround time (TAT), and downtime analysis. Oversee workshop budgeting, cost controls, and operational efficiency. Requirements Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech). 10-15 years of relevant experience in managing workshops for heavy equipment/machinery. Strong understanding of construction and mining equipment systems mechanical, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
