Maintain and operate heavy lab equipment safely and efficiently, including hydraulic presses, furnaces, cutting tools, and rotating machinery. Handle and maintain vacuum systems and pumps used in lab experiments. Monitor and log temperature, pressure, and other parameters using thermocouples, gauges, and digital systems. Assist in programming or troubleshooting basic PLC-controlled machines under supervision. Ensure proper documentation of test procedures, results, and observations in lab notebooks or digital formats. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized lab environment. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on lab equipment. Support inventory management for lab supplies, tools, and safety equipment. Qualifications: Diploma or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field. 2-4 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, testing, or workshop environment. Hands-on experience with heavy mechanical equipment and machinery. Basic knowledge of vacuum systems, thermocouples, and PLC operation. Familiarity with safety standards in industrial or research labs. Good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow instructions carefully. Preferred Skills (not mandatory): Prior experience with data logging or instrumentation software. Understanding of control systems and automation basics. Exposure to mechanical testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO). Work Environment: Lab-based with exposure to mechanical and thermal testing environments. Job Requirements 2 ~ 3 years of hands on experience in Quality / mechanical testing. Should have independently operated Universal testing machine (UTM). Additionally should be able to prepare samples, set-up test rigs, perform and compile reports. Must understand mechanical test specification, like Auto Industry standard LV214 and standards. Experience in dust/ water tightness testing, cross sectioning, microscopic analysis of metals / plastics is an added advantage.
