Description
As a Mechanical Technician Intern, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks related to mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment across India. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Equipment Maintenance & Repair:** - Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery. - Diagnose faults in mechanical equipment and conduct necessary repairs, replacements, and overhauls. - Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, rotating, and static equipment. - Ensure lubrication, alignment, and calibration of mechanical components as per manufacturer guidelines. - **Installation & Commissioning:** - Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machines, industrial tools, and mechanical equipment. - Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to guide installations. - Align and set up motors, pumps, pressure testing, and valves. - **Troubleshooting & Fault Diagnosis:** - Quickly identify mechanical failures and apply root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence. - Work with electrical and automation teams to resolve electromechanical faults. - **Safety & Compliance:** - Follow all safety protocols, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and safe working environment. - **Documentation & Reporting:** - Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, service logs, and breakdown reports. - Prepare and submit inspection reports, spare parts inventory updates, and work completion certificates. - Provide feedback to the engineering team for continuous improvements. - **Coordination & Teamwork:** - Work closely with engineers, operational team, and other technicians to minimize downtime. - Train and guide junior technicians on maintenance best practices. - Assist in procurement by identifying required spare parts and consumables. **Qualifications & Skills:** - **Educational Requirements:** - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, or relevant trade. - B.Tech / B.E. (preferred for higher technical roles). - **Experience:** - 0-1 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, servicing, or field support. - Experience in industries like oil & gas, heavy equipment. - **Technical Skills:** - Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe size & following adapter fittings, welding, and fabrication. - Experience in maintaining pumps, motors, compressors, and valves. - Ability to operate lathe machines, milling machines, and other workshop tools. - Basic knowledge of electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation is a plus. - **Soft Skills:** - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Willingness to travel and adapt to different working environments. This field-based job may require extensive travel across India and involve weekend duties and emergency call-outs. You will be exposed to various industrial environments, including factories, power plants, refineries, and construction sites, which may involve working at heights, confined spaces, or extreme temperatures.,
