Job Overview: The Senior Engineer - Mechanical Maintenance will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Management: Oversee and manage the preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment and systems in the plant. Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks based on criticality, production schedules, and downtime. Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical systems, ensuring fast and efficient repairs with minimal impact on production. Ensure that all mechanical breakdowns are documented, analysed, and the root causes are identified. Process Improvement & Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving mechanical systems, equipment performance, and operational efficiency. Implement continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical maintenance processes, tools, and systems. Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mechanical maintenance team. Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in maintenance best practices. Ensure the team adheres to safety standards and operational guidelines. Inventory & Spare Parts Management: Oversee the maintenance inventory for spare parts, tools, and other materials, ensuring the right resources are available for maintenance activities. Work with procurement to ensure timely availability of critical parts. Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on repairs. Ensure all maintenance work complies with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Vendor & Contract Management: Work with external vendors for sourcing mechanical equipment, spares, and services. Manage third-party contractors for specialized mechanical services and ensure their work meets required quality standards. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and areas for improvement to upper management. Track KPIs for mechanical maintenance and set goals to improve equipment uptime and reliability. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. (Masters Degree is a plus) Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
