Mechanical Engineering Senior Professional

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the Transformer Business at Hitachi Energy, based in Vadodara, India, you will have the opportunity to work on Distribution Transformer designs for Single and Three Phase transformers. The Transformers BU team is dedicated to utilizing innovative technology to transform energy and create a sustainable energy future for current and future generations by offering a comprehensive portfolio including power transformers, traction transformers, insulation, digital sensors, and transformer services. Key Responsibilities: - Implement transformer designs focusing on modular design principles and develop a configurable variants portfolio. - Prepare standardized design modules, product configurators, and tools to streamline quotation and design workflows. - Identify risks and opportunities to simplify designs, boost reuse, and automate processes. - Collaborate globally with customers and cross-functional teams to translate needs into modular rules and product structures. - Develop libraries of reusable components and ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance. - Continuously improve modulation processes, tools, and design quality. - Create standard designs and assemblies suitable for various factories globally. - Evaluate customer requirements and provide comprehensive solutions for the engineering value chain. - Support selection of standardized components and validate modules and assemblies for manufacturing accuracy. - Coordinate with different factories team to make the modulation design. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. - 9-12 years of experience in design engineering. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process-oriented mindset. - Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams. - Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Creo). - Knowledge of Lean Engineering or Design for Configuration principles. - Experience in modular design, product standardization, and modulation processes. - Experience in CPLM is a must. - Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
