You will be a part of Lam Research, a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge semiconductors worldwide. The Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. One of the significant functional groups within this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology) which designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lams product lines, focusing on innovation for next-generation products and improvements in cost and reliability. As a Mechanical Engineer 2 in the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of the LIGHT organization, based in Bangalore, you will closely collaborate with Engineering & Cross-functional teams across global regions such as the US & Asia. CSBG's main focus is on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle by providing Spares, Upgrades, and services to maximize the value of customer capital assets. **Role Overview:** - Responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies - Create electromechanical layouts, packaging, fixtures, tooling, and mechanisms - Collaborate with designers/drafters and conduct design reviews - Perform basic mechanical engineering design calculations and validation through prototype/computational modeling - Resolve medium complex problems and participate in idea generation for product needs **Key Responsibilities:** - Proficient in concept design and development of medium complex mechanical components/simple sub-system - Ability to solve mechanical engineering problems using prototype/testing/computational modeling tools - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting design concepts - Expertise in 3D CAD tools, part modeling, detailing, and assembly (preferably using Siemens NX) - Proficient in translating design requirements into parameters for OEM component selection - Ability to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience; or Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 4 Yrs Exp - Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others - Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills The company's commitment is to create an inclusive environment where every individual is valued and empowered to achieve their full potential.
