Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineering Professional at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal hydraulic, or heat transfer systems for the production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Your role involves applying research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and machines. You will be considered an Experienced Professional (P2) with practical knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. You will work independently with general supervision, facing difficult but typically not complex problems, and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. Key Responsibilities: - Understand customer requirements post project receipt and prepare order bound drawings and documents in line with customer specifications. - Compile relevant documents for identified projects, identifying and addressing deviations/issues in project documents in consultation with the Manager. - Ensure timely delivery of design specifications and generate requirements in the ERP system. - Conduct 3D modeling of transformers with complete fittings and accessories in Pro-E Wildfire, visiting customers' places/sites for design approval and clarifications. - Optimize transformer designs based on tender commitments and technology requirements. - Prepare manufacturing drawings including cable wiring, gasket hardware lists, and SAP entries within specified timelines. - Coordinate with the Service Cell for Erection, Commissioning, and other site-related problems. - Possess knowledge of Indian and International Standards & Codes such as DIN, ASME for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Material Specification, Welding, Brazing Qualifications, and Non-Destructive Testing. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity. Qualifications Required: - BE/ME in Electrical/Mechanical. - 5-8 years of industry experience in electrical designing of Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors (preferably 400kV and 765kV product range). - Knowledge and exposure to 2-D and 3-D CAD software packages like Creo/MagNet or similar. - Experience working on optimization projects related to Tank steel weight, Oil volume, and Insulation materials. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
