Role Overview Description Job Description: We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design a high-torque robot using SolidWorks or a similar CAD package. The project involves creating a heavy-duty robot capable of performing complex construction tasks. This is a remote position focused on designing robust and reliable machinery. Key Responsibilities: Design the full robot in SolidWorks (or similar), including all mechanical components and assemblies. Ensure proper joint articulation and load-bearing capacity for heavy-duty tasks. Create detailed CAD models and assembly drawings for manufacturing. Prepare models for simulation and testing, including URDF (Unified Robot Description Format) creation for ROS compatibility. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure functionality and efficiency. Requirements: Experience in designing robotics or heavy machinery using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX. Strong understanding of mechanical linkages and actuators. Experience in structural analysis and load calculations. Proficiency in creating URDF files for robotic simulations. Self-motivated and able to work remotely. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with high-torque gearboxes and motors. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo).
