Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Role Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Cockpit Mounting Structure
  • Location: ADE, Bangalore
  • Immediate to 15 days

Role Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer Cockpit Mounting Structure Roll on/Roll off will be

responsible for the design, realization, and finite element (FE) analysis of a roll-on/roll-off

cockpit mounting structure. The role involves modifying existing fixed mounting structures

to enable quick removal and installation of multiple cockpit configurations, ensuring

compliance with functional, operational, and structural requirements defined by ADE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical mounting structures as per ADE’s baseline drawings

and 3D CAD cockpit model.

  • Perform structural design and FE analysis for roll-on/roll-off mechanisms and

supporting subassemblies.

  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, mounting point layouts, and

foundation details.

  • Collaborate with ADE to ensure functional, operational, and mechanical rigidity

requirements are met.

  • Conduct simulation and load testing to validate the structure’s performance and

durability.

  • Prepare detailed design documentation, CAD drawings, and analysis reports for review

and approval.

  • Support integration, assembly, and testing activities within the RTS facility.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical, controls, and structural) to ensure

system compatibility.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX).
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material strength, and FE analysis.
  • Experience in ANSYS / NASTRAN / HyperMesh for FEA and stress analysis.
  • Knowledge of mechanical joints, fasteners, and modular design techniques.
  • Familiarity with foundation design, static & dynamic loading, and vibration analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with mechanical system design and integration in aerospace or simulator

environments.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical system design and integration activities.
  • Prior experience with defense or aerospace simulation systems preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • On-site work at ADE, Bangalore.
  • Close coordination with ADE engineers for system realization and validation.
  • Compliance with ADE’s design documentation, testing, and milestone deliverables.
